Day and night were the same, always full of traffic and constantly buzzing.

For most people, Iran might be at the bottom of their list of countries they want to visit, as they rarely hear any advertisements, news or reports about the country's tourist attractions.

However, the author, who visited the country formerly known as Persia for the first time, maintains his respect despite one of his friends saying that Iran is not that big.

Arriving on a sunny day, the Emirates Flex flight departed Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) early in the morning for Dubai and two hours later for Tehran, the capital of Iran.

It was chilly at Imam Khomeini International Airport at 9am local time or 1am Malaysian time before our tour guide Ali Reza declared Tehran home for the winter.

About 40 kilometers from the airport, on the main airport road, you will see an empty plain behind Mount Ganong, and as you enter the capital, you will see snow-white mountains. .

Places to visit in Tehran are:

Our previous stay at the Hilton Teheran Stigle Hotel made filling our stomachs easier as there is a Thai restaurant in Judan, although Thai food is a little different from Malaysian food.

Iran is unique in that it is warm and dry throughout the year along the Caspian Sea, with winter temperatures in the north falling below freezing, but rarely exceeding 29°C in other seasons.

Like other major cities in the world, Tehran is equally busy day and night, always with traffic and the constant sound of train horns.

Traffic in Tehran offers a new experience, with the authors describing Kuala Lumpur's friendly and aggressive behavior as 10 times worse, while the traffic rules seem vague.

The author (second from right) took a picture of the road in Iran.

In terms of development, Tehran is not behind the major cities of other developed countries. Modern shopping centers such as Tandis Center and Golestan Mall have famous brand fashion stores, including Western ones.

Indeed, in Tehran, there are many attractions such as Naseej Museum, Melat and Diva Museum and Saadabad Complex, besides Tehran Bazaar, such as food, clothes, shoes, gold and accessories.

Since the Islamic Revolution of 1979, clubs and entertainment bars have been banned, so nighttime activities are somewhat limited, so locals spend most of their time in parks or eating out.

Tehran is full of museums that tell all about Iranian culture, history, antiquities, glass art, the Royal Museum, carpets, culture and precious stones, in addition to numerous public parks for residents to relax.

The writer has the opportunity to visit Isfahan, the twin city of Kuala Lumpur, which is more than 400 km from Tehran, connected by the Idul Fitri highway and hosts other developed countries.

The scenic beauty of the desert and the snow-white mountains on the way can only be felt during the five-hour journey.

After arriving in Isfahan at 16:00 local time, we were taken to a famous hotel in the former capital of Iran and we were amazed by the beauty of the building, the landscape and the interior garden.

Arriving a few hours before sunset allowed us to explore the sights around Isfahan and then visit a market in the city center, which was perfectly timed.

The city's attractions include Naqsh-e Jahan Square, the Imam's apartment, and the Sioux Bridge, but our tour attracted audiences from communities unknown to foreign tourists.

Visiting the 1.64 million square kilometer country for the first time offers a new and exciting experience, but time constraints limit movement.
